The World Music Association of Serbia, in partnership with the Serbian Ethnomusicological Society, has successfully completed the first phase of the LHTMApp project — a digital platform for documenting and mapping Living Human Treasures in Serbia.
- Digital platform developed
- 1 app launched
- Research guide
- 1 guide published
- Academic outreach
- 15+ participants
The LHTMApp mobile and web application has been fully built and tested. It allows structured, geo-referenced documentation of intangible cultural heritage bearers, with data entry, profile creation, content interlinking, and geolocation features — all designed for ease of use in the field.
Guide for researchers published: A comprehensive methodological guide has been published, providing step-by-step instructions for fieldwork and use of the application. It sets a standardised framework to ensure consistency and quality across all future data collection.
Students and academics engaged: The project was presented to students and professors of ethnomusicology at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, with over 15 participants attending. The event introduced young researchers to the platform’s methodology and fieldwork approach, laying the groundwork for their involvement in the next phase.
The project continues until September 2026. The next phase will focus on interviewer training, fieldwork, and data collection across Serbia.
