Map of dementia friendly cultural spaces

Ever wondered what it’s like to walk through a museum when your memory can no longer be trusted to guide you?

As part of the project “Heritage with Care – Cultural Memory for People with Dementia, Alzheimer Bulgaria Association just launched an interactive map of the cultural spaces that too part in the project . Six museums across the country – the National Polytechnic Museum in Sofia, the Etar Open-Air Museum, the Regional Historical Museum and the House of Humour and Satire in Gabrovo, the National Museum of Education, and the Historical Museum in Dryanovo – have each sent their teams through specialised training to make their spaces calmer, clearer, and more welcoming for people living with dementia and the people who love them.

On the map you can find each museum, read what its team learned from the training in their own words, and see how something as ordinary as a museum visit can become an act of inclusion.
